How Llandudno Is Laid Out
Llandudno sits on a low neck of land between two headlands and two shores, which makes it easy to get your bearings. The Great Orme rises to the west and the Little Orme to the east. Between them, the North Shore curves around Llandudno Bay with the promenade and the pier at its western end. On the other side of town, a ten-minute walk away, the West Shore faces the Conwy estuary and the mountains.
The town centre fills the flat ground between the two shores, laid out on the Victorians' neat grid. Mostyn Street is the main shopping street, running parallel to the promenade, with the railway station at its southern end.
