Home Front Experience, Llandudno

Wartime Britain, Recreated

The Home Front Experience is one of Llandudno's most charming small museums. Tucked away on New Street, close to the town centre, it tells the story of everyday civilian life during the Second World War through recreated shops, rooms and street scenes, packed with genuine wartime objects.

The collection was built up privately over some forty years and is housed in a former wartime auxiliary fire station. You will find gas masks, ration books, Dig for Victory posters, the Home Guard, evacuation and the kitchen front, all displayed with sights and sounds that bring the period to life. It is a self-guided visit, so you can take it at your own pace, and there is a gift shop on the way out.
