Penderyn opened a new whisky distillery in Lloyd St Llandudno in May 2021. They restored a Grade 2 listed building, which was formerly The Old Board School and latterly the Conwy Council Offices. Many features have been restored, including the parquet floors, wall tiling, roof timbers and the old school metal staircase. The distillery is just a couple of blocks away from the promenade.

Tours are also available seven days a week and can be booked here. The tour takes in the exhibition area, the distilling hall, a tour of the building and ends up with a couple of tastings in the wonderful bar. Miniatures are available for drivers. The Masterclass takes place at weekends and is a 2.5-hour experience, where you will learn in detail how whisky is made, Penderyn’s history and also how to nose whisky; these can be booked here.

The shop is open 7 days a week, from 9am – 5pm.

There is a large car park at the rear of the building, where the main entrance also is. This can be accessed by car from St Mary’s Road off Lloyd St, whereas pedestrians can simply walk around the building.

Penderyn began life in the village of Penderyn in the Brecon Beacons in 2000, and now export their multi-award-winning whiskies and spirits to over 45 countries. From Wales to the world.
