St George's Hotel in Llandudno North Wales |
|
When the hotel was built in 1854 it marked the start of Llandudno's rise to prominence as a major seaside resort. Today its magnificent facade, now an officially listed architectural feature, still dominates the graceful sweep of the elegant promenade.
Inside however,
whilst the unique Victorian appeal and appearance has been tastefully
preserved, the facilities of this great hotel have been brought impressively
up to date with a recent refurbishment of £4 million being spent on the
entire property, bringing the hotel it's well deserved 4-star status and a
Rosette Award for fine food.
In 2006 St Georges Hotel underwent a £4 million refurbishment, a difficult task that involved a full public area and bedroom regeneration. The one vision that needed to be achieved from the refurbishment was to make St Georges Hotel the finest and most luxurious 4 star hotel in Llandudno. All 75 newly refurbished bedrooms have air-conditioning as standard and may have breathtaking coastal views and balconies. Our Suites have king sized beds, separate lounge areas with LCD TV's and a luxurious bathroom with separate shower. All rooms incorporate en-suite facilities, TV and radio; direct dial telephone, tea and coffee making facilities, air-conditioning, trouser press, hairdryers, high-speed internet access and 24 hour room service.
With AA Rosette Winning Cuisine, the dinning experience at St. George's Hotel should not be missed. The Terrace Restaurant, overlooking the spectacular coastal views of Llandudno Bay, has a great reputation for excellent food and interesting wines. A vibrant and sophisticated place to be seen and extremely popular with our guests and locals alike. You can be assured that there will be a variety of tantalising dishes to tempt all palates. At St George's Hotel, we insist in bringing our guests only the finest local foods, cooked in season, when taste and quality are at their optimum. Conferences and Special Occasions The St George's long ago forged its reputation as one of Britain's foremost resort hotels. Now, after recent refurbishment, it is once again taking its place amongst the country's elite. Function facilities range from small syndicate rooms to the magnificent 250 capacity Wedgwood Suite with its 19th Century listed ceiling. There is also the superb Conwy Suite, impressively created within a former Victorian ballroom to offer accommodation for up to 150 delegates and which, like the Wedgewood, enjoys its own private adjoining bar. Whatever the occasion, the St George's has the facilities, the experience and the expertise to ensure that every event - business, social or society, is an outstanding success. Local Attractions Llandudno couldn't be better placed as a base from which to explore the innumerable attractions waiting for visitors to North Wales. Llandudno itself has much to offer its guests with seaside activities and amusements including the Victorian pier, sea fishing and boat trips. Dominating the skyline is the towering backdrop of Great Orme Country Park, host to another long list of attractions. The towns of Conwy and Caernarfon with their imposing medieval castles, are both but a short drive away, while Isle of Anglesey with its many charms lies just down the coast. Nearby over the horizon stands the jewel of North Wales - Snowdonia, a treasure trove of spectacular mountain scenery studded with a wealth of attractions ranging from miniature mountain railways to ancient slate quarries. |
